Care Process
Overview
- New patient examination and recommendations: 1 hour (approximately)
- First treatment session: 15-30 minutes is typical
- Follow-up treatment and assessment: 10-15 minutes each session is typical
Dr. Abramson performs all aspects of your care including measurements, X-Rays, discussion and treatment adjustments.
First Visit: 1 hour (approximately)
Here’s an outline of what goes on during your first visit.
- You complete a brief history and intake forms in the waiting area
- Meet with Dr. Abramson for discussion of your condition, history and treatment goals, and the NUCCA treatment approach
- Standing and lying down measurements taken by Dr. Abramson (you are fully clothed)
- Specific, extremely low radiation X-Rays at specific neck and head (cervical spine) angles taken by Dr. Abramson
- Meeting with Dr. Abramson regarding course of treatment (based on the X-Ray and measurement results)
- Precise, gentle adjustment is applied by Dr. Abramson to the first vertebra (near your ear) while you lie on one side of your body. This is the treatment that corrects misalignment.
- Standing and lying down measurements re-taken
- Wrap-up discussion regarding findings, care plan, what to expect following adjustment and how to protect the alignment achieved in the session.
Second Visit: 15-30 minutes
This session is typically scheduled three to four days from the first visit.
- Discussion about results of the initial adjustment and your experience since the last session
- Standing and lying down measurements taken by Dr. Abramson to assess if your body retains alignment and balance
- NUCCA adjustment is performed by Dr. Abramson, if indicated by the measurements
- Post adjustment follow-up X-Ray would be taken, if needed.
- Dr. Abramson reviews tips for maintaining your alignment correction
Follow-up Visits: 10-15 minutes
Your body’s response to the first adjustment determines the timing and number of additional sessions.
- Meet with Dr. Abramson to discuss your body’s response to adjustment and current condition
- Adjustment made, if indicated
- Dr. Abramson always has time for questions and dialog
Extremely Low Radiation X-Rays
We maintain lead filters over our X-Ray delivery tube, substantially reducing the amount of radiation required to accurately measure your head and neck alignment. We place a lead vest over your body as a precaution; the X-Ray is precisely focused on the head and neck—well above the shoulders.
