Among a group of 75 migraine headache patients, those treated with a combination of soft tissue and articular manual therapies experienced greater improvements in migraine pain and duration than those who received either soft tissue or articular manual therapy alone. Late Bedtimes May Increase Diabetes Risk

For one week, investigators monitored 51 people without heart disease or diabetes who categorized themselves as either early birds or night owls and found that not only did the early birds have better fat metabolism at both rest and during exercise, but they were also less likely to become insulin resistant over time. Coffee Preparation for Longevity

While the current research suggests that moderate coffee intake may
offer health benefits, it’s unclear if coffee preparation plays a role. In a study that looked that the coffee habits of over 450,000 adults, researchers found the best outcomes came from coffee prepared from ground beans, while decaf and instant coffee products only conferred about half the benefits to the drinker. HIIT Recommended for Cancer Patients

High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is a form of exercise that involves short intervals of near-maximal effort—such as sprinting or stair climbing—separated by intervals of moderate-intensity exercise—such as jogging or fast walking. A review of seven systematic reviews concluded that HIIT is an effective form of exercise for cancer patients and cancer survivors due to its ability to improve cardiorespiratory fitness and quality of life, its high adherence, and safety. Education May Reduce Prenatal Depression Risk

Researchers analyzed data on nearly 160,000 former smokers and found that those who exercised, ate a healthy diet, and limited their drinking had a 27% lower risk of early death in the following two decades than former smokers with an unhealthy lifestyle. JAMA Network Open, September 2022
